Stage 1 - Egg
A butterfly begins life as FERTILIZED EGG. A female butterfly lays a lot of egg usually on leaves or stems of butterfly eggs are very tiny and may be different shapes likespherical, oval or cylindrical.
Stage 2 - The second stage occurs when the egg hatches and gives rise to the butterfly larva.
Stage 3 -The third stage is known as the pupa or chrysalis. The caterpillar attaches itself to a twig, a wall or some other support and the exoskeleton splits open to reveal the chrysalis. The chrysalis hangs down like a small sack until the transformation to butterfly is complete.
Stage 4 - An adult butterfly is ready.
